About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Annie Kissane, and I am the person behind 'Authentic Therapy & Training'. I love people and enjoy supporting and enabling others to grow, heal and become... whoever they authentically are.
With over 40 years of serving and working with people in various settings, and over 20 years as a counselling trainer, I bring understanding and maturity to my work. I take an integrative position, along with the perspective that everyone is unique, and deserves respect and compassion. Drawing on a broad theoretical base, I adapt how we work together according to your needs and the nature of your experience.
As an experienced therapist and supervisor, I hold a Master of Science degree, diplomas in both counselling and supervision, and a senior accreditation with BACP. I also achieved a Professional Certificate in Education, which informs my mentoring, teaching and training.
I am based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and have a home office where I see clients, as well as working for organisations on a self-employed basis.
Therapy
People who choose to go for therapy are making a courageous choice to face life's challenges, to grow in self-awareness and to potentially change their direction or the repeating patterns that have been a feature of their life so far.
Mentoring & Supervision
Securing accepting and empathic support is vital to self-care as a professional. We all need a place to download and debrief clinical work, reflect on our practice, and recover from the stresses and strains that can be a part of caring for others on a daily basis.
Training
Whilst developing a working model relating to developmental and relational trauma called 'Anastasis©', and offering CPD and bespoke training to organisations,
I have devised a Level 5 Diploma, which is accredited by CPCAB.
More recently, I find myself returning to an old favourite; small workshops and masterclasses from my home office. This enables deeper trust and a more intimate context for learning, providing opportunity to share in fellowship together, and allowing me to indulge in another of my passions - cooking for people!
