Relationships & Mediation

Healthy relationships can be difficult to achieve, and mutual support, understanding and empathy are key. I use the metaphor of a bridge to illustrate that healthy adult relationships need to be reciprocal, hence we need them to be built from both sides. We cannot make a relationship healthy by ourselves, and we cannot fix a relationship on our own.

Relationship therapy can include activities to engage in together, honest and transparent communication, humour, tears and love. We often feel worse before we feel better, as we need to look at what might be causing the difficulties before we can address them.

Both mediation and relationship therapy require that everyone concerned is invested in the process, and we aim to identify mutually beneficial goals that we can work towards together. Please note that relationship therapy that involves more then two people and/or where there is conflict, may require more than one therapist. It is best practice to have a facilitator and an observer to ensure that all parties are represented and heard.
